Petron’s Tri-Action Advantage: Better engine protection, better mileage, & better power
As the leading oil company, we take pride in being the preferred and trusted fuel brand. Our premium fuels are produced locally to international standards and formulated especially for Philippine driving conditions. All our fuels are enhanced to deliver Petron’s TriAction advantage namely 1) better protection for longer engine life; 2) better mileage for longer drives; and 3) better power. These translate to cleaner engines and emissions, lower maintenance costs and fuel consumption, while delivering a #PetronBestDay with a smoother, more enjoyable drive.
Our flagship brand – Petron Blaze 100 Euro 6 – is the BEST GASOLINE IN THE COUNTRY and is the only 100 Research Octane Number (RON) gasoline in the market. It is also the only fuel in the country that meet the most stringent emission and quality fuel standard in the world, Euro 6. It is recognized as the best gasoline in the market and has been tested, time and again, under extreme racing conditions. It guarantees a cleaner engine after just one (1) full tank, provides powerful engine performance and improved fuel economy.
Our high-performance and technologically advanced – Petron Turbo Diesel – has a new formulation and now boasts of a Cetane Number (CN) of 60. It far exceeds the Philippine National Standard that sets a minimum of 50-Cetane for diesel and superior to regular diesel products. Petron Turbo Diesel is ideal for high-end vehicles with new generation, turbo-charged diesel engines, as its high cetane and premium additive formulation is customized to deliver extraordinary engine performance and a more enjoyable driving experience. At the same time, older diesel engine types can benefit from its rapid clean-up and power restoration formulation as well as combustion-enhancing properties, for better fuel efficiency and improved emissions.
Why Choosing the Right Octane is Important for Your Gasoline-Fed Vehicle.
- In driving and maintaining your vehicle, there are few things more important than choosing the proper grade of octane in the unleaded gasoline you put in your tank. Octane is simply a measure of how much compression and heat a gasoline can withstand before igniting. The higher the octane the less likely the gasoline is going to pre-ignite at higher pressures. Pre-ignition causes engine “knock,” that sound you hear in your engine when premature burning of fuel in the combustion chamber occurs. Too much “knocking” and your engine gets damaged.
- The best way to check what the recommended octane grade you need is to look in your vehicle owner’s manual. To ensure we got you covered, we have three (3) unleaded gasoline grades namely Petron Blaze 100 Euro 6, Petron XCS (95 RON), which ensures more engine protection, and Petron Xtra Advance (91 RON) which offers the same TriAction advantages but with more focus on fuel economy
Why is higher Cetane better for your Diesel Engine?
- Cetane number (CN) is an indicator of ignition quality: the higher the Cetane number, the easier it is for diesel to ignite. Since diesel engines operate without an external ignition source, when diesel is injected into the hot compressed air in the combustion chamber, it must ignite on its own with as little delay as possible (ignition lag). Cetane measures how fast a diesel fuel ignites, or the time between the start of fuel injection and the start of combustion inside the engine. Higher Cetane means the diesel fuel ignites faster, resulting in better engine performance and lower exhaust emissions.
- While diesel engines can operate at the minimum PNS/QS requirement of 50-Cetane, the higher the cetane, the easier the ignition and combustion process. For most diesel engines, especially for new and high-performance vehicles, diesel fuel with higher cetane delivers smoother response, more power, and better fuel efficiency.
Petron Turbo Diesel Testimonials
Assigned to a Toyota Innova manual transmission model, test driver Enrique Miguel Lim had the following notes: “effortless and faster acceleration from low rpm; engine felt more powerful, consistent power delivery throughout the rpm range; overall performance better than expected.”
Meanwhile, Antonio-Marie Siddayao, who performed the fuel tests on board a diesel Honda CR-V observed: “The best fuel tested, because of how the engine responded when power was needed during any type of condition. The car accelerated more quickly even at low rpm. Warming up the engine was quicker than expected. Achieved better mileage.”
Professional racer Raymond Dimapilis achieved the best fuel economy of 34.08Km/L on a BMW X1 Xdrive. He noted that Petron Turbo Diesel was a good fit for a European car, and rated it 25% better than the next best fuel tested, attributing the excellent fuel consumption to good combustion and power on demand at all ranges.
Petron Blaze 100 Euro-6 Testimonials
“Blaze had a significant improvement on power. This was clearly felt on the ability of the car an engine to slowly accelerate from 21kph up to 35 kph using a steady engine rpm of 1,000.”
“The engine does not need as much fuel to achieve the same power necessary to maintain the cruising speeds of the economy run.”- John Abraham Zayco and James Benjamin Gaston
“The car was indeed in top performance mode due to the fact that it had good performance fuel. There has been a lot of write-ups, that there is no need to get a high octane fuel other than the car manufacturer’s recommendation; however, it turned out in this run, it proved that having a high performance fuel has its benefits, in our case economy, when used properly.”
“To sum it all having a high performance fuel gave the car its full potential output which was translated to fuel economy for us.”- Raymund Dimapilis
